Rooted and Ready

*** The In His Service planning team invites all women in uniform, veterans, retirees, military & first responder wives, and women ministering to the military & first responder communities to join us for this retreat. ***

We are pleased to announce registration for the In His Service retreat!  Much prayer has gone into this time, and we invite you and your friends to join us for a weekend of diving into Ephesians, seeing what God highlights through the Holy Spirit, and how He leads each of you into transformed lives that impact those you rub shoulders with every day. Come gather with us at Shepherd's Pasture for rest, connection with other uniformed women, discussion around shared military experiences, and development of a deeper relationship with Jesus. Let's get “Rooted and Ready” for all God has for us. The weekend will include large group sessions, workshops, worship, and downtime for rest and reflection.

"I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, would give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you may know what is the hope of his calling, what is the wealth of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the mighty working of his strength" (Ephesians 1:17-19 CSB).

PRESENTERS

Martha Stevenson-Jones

Martha Stevenson-Jones and her husband, Daryl Jones, have been called by the Lord as full-time missionaries with Campus Crusade for Christ, International (known as Cru in the U.S.). They are the Global Directors and are excited to serve the men and women who wear their nations' uniforms in almost 40 nations including Kenya, Rwanda, Mongolia, Romania, Ecuador, Honduras, and Ukraine. Martha especially enjoys cheering on women through Bible Studies; events and discipleship. Martha is a 1982 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and was recently inducted into the Hall of Fame at Avenger Field for being the first African-American woman from any U.S. service academy to earn a military aeronautical rating. After juggling military leadership roles – flying, marriage, kids, and being Room Mom several times, Martha retired after 20 years as a Lieutenant Colonel. Daryl and Martha have been married for over 42 years and have been blessed with three great “adult” children and a daughter in-love. They enjoy being empty nesters.

Esme' Daetz

After serving in a parallel ministry path for two decades with her then-active duty husband, Esme’ and Dan joined The Navigators staff in January 2015. Esme’ has served as Special Projects Coordinator for what was then the Navigators Military ministry from then until November 2024, when she became the Director of Operations of Navigators Military & First Responder. Esme’ serves on the ministry’s leadership team, supporting and resourcing 200 military and first responder field staff at stateside and overseas military installations and in local agencies. After graduating from the Air Force Academy in 1991 and serving about 6 ½ years as an Intelligence Officer in the Air Force, Esme’ separated from active duty in 1997 to pursue full-time duties as mom to two children, Josh and Anna, and became an avid supporter of military spouses and families through various leadership roles in base spouses’ clubs. She also led Precept Bible studies for several years through the base chapel and in her local church, scratching her itch for inductive study as a learner at heart. In addition to her current Operations role, Esme’ meets regularly with female Air Force Academy cadets and a Space Force officer, discipling them to establish them in their walks with the Lord and equipping them to invest in spiritual generations of disciples who make disciples, taking Jesus to the nations.

They currently serve as missionaries with Cru Military (The Military Ministry of Cru) as U.S. National Directors, where they live out their passions to LOVE JESUS, LOVE our MILITARY, and LOVE God’s COMMISSION to Win-Build-Send.
