THIS RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND CONSENT TO MEDICAL CARE AGREEMENT (the “Agreement”) INCLUDES A RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND WAIVER OF CLAIMS. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.

The Navigators, a Colorado nonprofit religious corporation, sponsors and hosts events, programs, and other activities (the “Activities”) to encourage spiritual growth and fellowship. By signing, you agree not to hold The Navigators responsible for injuries or issues that might happen during your participation in their events or activities. You also give them permission to seek medical care for you if needed.

Activities and Assumption of Risk: The Navigators offers many activities—like classes, retreats, conferences and sports—both on its property and through its ministry programs. Any Navigator activity you join, whether on-site or off-site, supervised or not, is covered by this agreement. You acknowledge that your participation comes with inherent risk (like injury, illness, loss, or even death). and you assume these risks of participating.
Release of Liability and Indemnification of Claims: As a result of your participation, you—and your family or legal representatives—agree not to hold The Navigators or its team responsible for any injuries, illnesses, property damage, or other losses. You accept all risks and give up any claims related to your participation.
Medical Consent: If you are injured or become ill and are unable to consent to treatment, you agree that The Navigators can request emergency medical care on your behalf. You are responsible for all costs of medical treatment that may arise.
Illness: By signing, you understand and agree that you might be exposed to an illness (like COVID-19) while attending a Navigators event. The Navigators are following all safety guidelines from the government and the CDC (Center for Disease Control), but they cannot completely remove the risk of getting sick. You accept this risk and understand that even with good hygiene and legal compliance, there is no guarantee that illness will not spread.
Miscellaneous: In the event that any provision of this Agreement is determined to be invalid for any reason, such invalidity shall not affect the validity of any of the other provisions, which other provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
Governing Law: This Agreement is governed by and construed under the laws of Colorado, without reference to its Conflicts of Laws provisions. Any dispute or claim arising out of or relating to this Agreement or claim of breach hereof shall be brought exclusively in Colorado Springs, El Paso County, Colorado.
Dispute Resolution: If there is a disagreement related to this Agreement, both sides agree to try to resolve it through respectful, good-faith discussions based on Biblical principles. If those discussions do not prove successful, the dispute will be handled through Christian mediation and, if needed, legally binding arbitration—following the Rules of Procedure for Christian Conciliation from the Institute for Christian Conciliation. Any final decision will be made official in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Both sides agree not to sue each other in court, except to enforce the outcome of the arbitration.
By signing below, you signify you have read this Agreement and agree with all contents of this Agreement. You further agree that the scope of this Release is not limited to the present and will continue throughout the course of your involvement with The Navigators. You affirm that you are at least eighteen (18) years of age or older and you are competent legally and otherwise to enter into this Agreement.

IF I INDICATE, “I AGREE” BELOW, I hereby irrevocably give The Navigators the right and unrestricted permission to edit at its sole discretion, copyright and/or publish, reproduce or otherwise use my name, image, likeness, voice, biographical information, and digital recordings made by me, or of me, for any purpose whatsoever, without compensation, including without limitation to publicize and/or promote The Navigators ministry worldwide in photographs, printed literature, video recordings, sound recordings, websites, social media, digital, and any other medium that now exists or may exist in the future. I waive any right to receive notification or approval rights of the finished product; and I acknowledge that The Navigators owns the finished product and all rights to it.

IF I INDICATE, “I AGREE” BELOW, I hereby agree to release, defend, and hold harmless The Navigators and its agents or employees, including any firm publishing and/or distributing the finished product in whole or in part, whether on paper, via electronic media, or on websites, from any claim, damages, or liability arising from or related to the use of audio, photographs/video, including but not limited to any misuse, distortion, blurring, alteration, optical illusion, or use in composite form, either intentionally or otherwise, that may occur or be produced in taking, processing, reduction, or production of the finished product, its publication, or distribution.

IF I INDICATE, “I AGREE” BELOW, I acknowledge and agree that I will not receive any compensation for the distribution of my appearance or performance through The Navigators. I understand that there is no time limit on the validity of this Release, nor is there any geographic limitation on the permission granted.

I am 18 years of age or older and have read this release before signing below, fully understanding the contents, meaning, and impact of this release. I understand that I am free to address any specific questions regarding this release by submitting those questions in writing prior to signing, and I agree that my failure to do so will be interpreted as a free and knowledgeable acceptance of the terms of this release.
